A short reminder about the Work Party this week to remove invasive plants along Brooklyn Creek. We will have some cool tools that will make easy work of pulling invasive plants. One is called the Extractigator (see photo) on loan from MARS.
We will be at the Birkdale Farm, 1836 Guthrie Road in Comox on Tuesday and Wednesday November 7 and 8, both morning and afternoons. Come out and give a hand, don’t be shy! Hopefully the cows will keep their distance (they do!).
Red-sided coho salmon have been spotted further down the creek last Wednesday, so they may be viewable at the Farm by now. Wear weather-appropriate clothing and if you have a portable weed-whacker, shovel, loppers, gloves, bring them along. We will have 5 of those fancy easy Extractigators available!
Please show up on time (9AM mornings and 1PM afternoons) so we can go in with the least disturbance to the farm. If you arrive late, please contact on-site Mikala (613-532-7020). The weather looks perfect. Looking forward to seeing you there!
The other event is the AGM on this Wednesday, 7 PM at the Fisheries Office, 148 Port Augusta St., Comox. Come and find out what is going on in the BCWS background (plenty!)
