400 Trees & Shrubs Planted By Volunteers

The rehabilitation project of Brooklyn Creek adjacent to Gaglardi Academy in Comox was completed in October with the planting of 400 trees and shrubs by community volunteers including students from the Academy. These plantings will stabilize the stream bank and provide shade to the creek to improve habitat for salmon and other species that call Brooklyn Creek home. Financial support for this project came from the Town of Comox, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, the Pacific Salmon Foundation, and in-kind services, materials and support from local businesses.
